Perimenopause / Menopause

Perimenopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life, characterised by hormonal shifts that may lead to symptoms such as irregular periods, hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. Typically beginning in the 40s, this phase can span several years as fluctuating oestrogen levels influence overall health and well-being.

Who would benefit from seeing a Well Woman GP?

How will it help me?

There is lots of evidence to show the long term advantages of body bioidentical hormones during the menopause transition. We can help determine if HRT is right for you and prescribe a personalised regime that is safe and beneficial.

Symptoms of perimenopause may include new fatigue, hot flushes, menstrual changes, brain fog, joint pains, mood changes, sleep disturbance, low libido, weight gain and the list goes on.

Mid life is a great time to reassess your overall health. We will ensure all your body systems are assessed and your cancer screening is updated. If you have existing medical conditions or take medication we will ensure you are on the correct management.

Our aim is to make perimenopause a breeze! There are several simple lifestyle interventions that can greatly improve your overall health during midlife and into your senior years. These interventions can include targeted exercise, certain supplements, and a new understanding of specific dietary requirements that come with being a perimenopausal woman.
