Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What makes Well Woman GP different from a regular GP?

We offer longer, unrushed consultations that go beyond treating symptoms. Our focus is preventative health, so we take the time to understand your story, screen thoroughly, and design a personalised health plan that fits your life — not just a prescription pad.

No referral is needed. You can book your initial consultation directly through our website.

Expect an hour of ‘me time’. Your doctor will go through your medical history, lifestyle, concerns, and goals. We’ll conduct a full health assessment including cancer screening, mental health, hormonal and cardiovascular checks, gut health, and more. You’ll leave with a plan tailored just for you.

Yes, telehealth is available for follow-ups and some initial appointments. However, we recommend in-person visits for a full physical assessment, especially during your first appointment.

Most patients will have:

  • An initial 1-hour consultation

  • A 40-minute follow-up to discuss results

  • Two short follow-ups (15–20 min) to review progress

Weight management or HRT may require longer-term follow-ups (e.g., 12–16 weeks).

Yes. Medicare rebates apply for most appointments if you hold a valid Medicare card. Out-of-pocket costs vary depending on appointment type — see our Fees page or contact us for details.

No. We are a private billing clinic. Our fees reflect the extended consultation time and comprehensive care we provide.

No. We work alongside your regular GP. After your program, we provide a letter summarising your care so your family doctor stays informed and can continue routine care.

We focus on preventative health and chronic disease risk reduction. We don’t treat acute illnesses (e.g. infections, injuries) or manage complex ongoing chronic conditions. Please continue to see your usual GP for those issues.

No. We are committed to evidence-based medicine, in line with RACGP guidelines. While we support holistic wellbeing, all our medical decisions are grounded in science.

Yes. You can book a skin-only telehealth consultation to receive a prescription for compounded skincare tailored to your skin concerns.

Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 50% fee. Missed appointments are charged at 100% of the fee. We appreciate your understanding — it helps us provide dedicated time to all our patients.

Yes! We create custom health programs for female employees and offer onsite screenings, follow-ups, and workplace presentations. Contact us to discuss your organisation’s needs.

Cancellation policy

If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hour notice 50% fee will be charged with no Medicare rebate available. Failure to attend the appointment will result in 100% of the fee with no rebate. Thank you for your understanding.

Billing policy

We are a private billing practice and payment is required at the time of your appointment. Our fees are inclusive of out of consultation administration tasks completed by the GP such as reviewing of results and formulation of your management plan.

We understand that sometimes our fees may seem high, but remember that an investment in your health now could significantly improve your long term health and quality of life.

Fees are subject to change at any time due to Medicare revisions, inflation and CPI.
